16.11.13 Saturday. Banjul

A tourist day today as it is the first visit to the Gambia for Faith and Mike.  We set off in the morning and went to the Senegambia Hotel to watch the famous vulture feeding.  This has expanded somewhat and actually has nearly as many black kites swooping and diving for food as vultures on the ground.  Not too close for anyone who is frightened of birds!  We then went on to Banjul to climb Independence Arch and visit the small museum with it's displays about the local culture and the belief in JuJu.   We rounded the day off by shopping for suitable clothes for the visitors on the busy market street in Banjul before returning home for the evening
